From our own correspondent.
It is with deep regret that we have to record the death of one of our townsmen, Mr. Wm. Torrance, which took place at his own residence on Tuesday morning, 18th inst. His death was not altogether unexpected as he had been unable to work for a long time. In his death we lose one of our principal business men whose place will not easily be supplied. The funeral took place on Thanksgiving Day and was one of the largest that has been seen here. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community.
