- Death of Thomas Somerville Sr.,
On Thursday afternoon, 3rd March, Mr. Thomas Somerville Sr., died at his residence, lot 24, con. 5, Esquesing, about two miles below Acton, at the ripe old age of 80 years. Mr. Somerville was a native of the Parish of Carstairs, in the county of Lanark, Scotland, and was born on the 6th May, 1806. He married Miss Jane Fraser, also of the Parish of Carstairs, and they emigrated to Canada in the year 1833. Mrs. Somerville died in 1869. A son and a daughter, Mr. Thomas Somerville, who resides on the Brown Homestead, near Acton, and Mrs. Jane Kennedy, widow of the late Alexander Kennedy, of lot 25, next farm to her girlhood's home, survive them. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, and considering the exceedingly stormy day was largely attended. - Featured Link
