Death of Mrs. (Rev.) R. Hobbs.
The many friends among the readers of the FREE PRESS of Rev. R. Hobbs and family will be pained with the intelligence of the death of Mrs. Hobbs, which occured at the parsonage at Tilsonburg last Saturday. She was a victim of consumption and for the past year has been gradually failing, but with christian fortitute she bore her sufferings. Her devoted husband was of late almost constantly with her and had the satisfaction of personally ministering to her comfort. With perfect resignation to the call of an all-wise Providence she has preceeded her husband and five children to the bright home beyond the river. Mrs. Hobbs was especially dear to the people of Acton. During his pastorate here Rev. Mr. Hobbs brought her to Acton as his bride, and this is the native place of their first-born. She filled the position of helpmeet to her husband and the people's pastor with acceptibility to all. The sorrowing husband has the heartfelt sympathy of all who know him in this heavy affliction. The remains were interred in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls South, on Tuesday.
