Nicklin, Augusta

In Memorium.
At the regular meeting of the Royal Templars of Temperance on Monday evening the following memorial referring to the death of the late Miss Augusta Nicklin was passed:-
"The first crowned." Our circle of fraternity has been broken, God, who is too wise to err and too loving to be unkind, has said, "It is enough, come up higher!" The greater love has prevailed. Our sister has taken her place in the shining circle above.
Her sweetness of disposition, her transparent honesty of purpose, and her quiet unassuming manner, won for her, the affection, the esteem, the confidence of us all. The influence of her life, alone remains with us. A silent voice says "Be ye also ready."
While we mourn our loss, we would remember that there are other hearts that with hers, formed another circle, within even ours, and to those - the members of the bereaved home - we would offer this memorial, with an added prayer for God's guidance and blessing for each, our only plea for those claiming their attention being:- "We too have lost a friend."
