ASHGROVE.
A very sad death, which has cast a gloom over the neighborhood and solemnized our Christmas festivities, occurred last Wednesday in the person of Mrs. John Brownridge. The deceased was ill only a few days of the dread disease pneumonia, and her death was quite unexpected. Her death is particularly sad as she leaves a family of eight children, the oldest, a daughter, only fifteen years old. The largest procession remembered, followed the remains to Mt. Pleasant cemetery, on Friday afternoon. With sorrowing hearts and bowed heads six of the deceased's brothers carried her remains to their last resting place. On Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. D. A. Moir preached an eloquent and touching funeral sermon to a large and sympathetic congregation. The deceased was a consistent and faithful member of the Methodist Church. The bereaved husband and children have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
