An old and highly respected resident of Erin died on Friday morning in the person of Mr. Mark Sutton. Deceased was born in Yorkshire, England, and lived there for some time after his marriage to Miss Annie Pratt (who was drowned in Erin some two years ago.) He came to this country in 1855, and settled in Everton, where he remained until 1872. He then removed to Erin, where he resided up to the time of his death. Deceased had been an invalid for the past two years or so, and at the time of his death was eighty years of age. A family of three boys and two girls survive him. They are Robert Sutton, of Acton, Mark Sutton, jr. of Erin, Mrs. Mary Robinson, of Eramosa, Mrs. Lizzie Boyton, of Chicago, and Mr. William Sutton, of Erin. Mr. Sutton was a member of the Methodist denomination; was a warm-hearted friend and devoted father, and one whom by his uprightness and nobleness of character had endeared himself to all to whom he had come in contact. The funeral took place from his late residence, lot 17, 3rd concession, Erin, at 1 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, to Coningsby cemetery, and was one of the largest seen here for years. - Featured Link
