- DEATH OF A FORMER RESIDENT.
William Boomer, of Hull, Iowa,
Called Home at a Good Old
Age.
The news has just been received by friends here of the death on Monday of Mr. William Boomer, at his home in Hull, Iowa, after an illness of several months.
Mr. Boomer will be well remembered by the older residents of Halton County. He lived for over thirty years on the farm, lot 2, on the seventh line Esquesing, near Hornby, now owned and occupied by Mr. James Coulson, where his father, the late John Boomer sr., settled when he came to Canada.
About forty years ago Mr. Boomer removed to Wellesley, and thence fifteen years ago to Hull, Iowa. He was an honest, upright, christian man and hated evil in any form. He was an enthusiastic Methodist, did much to establish the Church in his new home, and read the Christian Guardian of Toronto, every week up to his death. In wordly goods he has prospered abundantly and leaves his large family well provided for. His wife - who is a sister of the Hon. Senator McKindsey, late of Milton - and nine of his twelve children, survive.
The funeral took place yesterday. - Featured Link
