Death of Mrs. Maddock of Guelph.
Mrs. Rosa Maddock, whose death in her 74th year is recorded in another column, was one of the early residents of Guelph, coming there with her father the late Mr. Goodeve, from England in 1832, so she has been living in Guelph for sixty-six years. Mrs. Maddock was a woman of high moral principle and Christian devotion, and her home and daughters have reason to cherish with gratitude and affection her persevering and self-sacrificing efforts on their behalf. She has been in poor health for some years and was latterly very frail. She leaves three sons and two daughters, viz.: H. H., Chicago, Ill.; Gilbert, Tilsonburg; Walter, Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Porter, Mt. Pleasant, and Miss H. L., at home. Mrs. Masters, Guelph, and Mr. C. F. Goodeve, Acton, are sister and brother.
