Rev. J. A. McLachlan, M.A., Bereft.
On Saturday evening the sad news was received by Rev. Mr. McLachlan of the Methodist church of the death of his father at the family residence in Maryborough, near Rothsay. About a month ago he was stricken with appoplexy and remained until his death in a semi-conscious condition. Mr. McLachlan settled in the township of Maryborough nearly fifty years ago and was one of the most esteemed pioneers. He had reached the age of 72 years. For nearly half a century he was an active member of the Methodist church. He was a kind and indulgent father and head of the home. His family have cherished memories of his oversight, counsel and care. His remains were laid at rest on Tuesday.- Featured Link
