Death of Mrs. Geo. L. Beardmore.
Last Friday Mrs. Beardmore, widow of the late G. L. Beardmore, founder of the Beardmore Tanning Works here, died at the family residence, Chudleigh, Toronto. The remains were laid to rest Monday afternoon in the family plot at Mount Pleasant cemetery. Rev. E. Stroud Hale, pastor of the Reformed Episcopal church, conducted a brief service at the house at 3 o'clock. The chief mourners were Messrs. W. D. Beardmore, G. W. Beardmore, Fred Beardmore, sons of the deceased; Dr. Macdonald, Simcoe Street, and Mr. Fiske, Montreal, sons-in-law; Messrs. Bert Macdonald, Willie Beardmore and Torrance Beardmore, grandsons. Mr. W. D. Beardmore, Mr. G. W. Beardmore, Mr. Fred Beardmore, Dr. Macdonald, Mr. Fiske, and Mr. Herbert Cawthra were pall bearers. A large number of prominent Torontonians were present, among them being Col. Macondald, Col. Otter, Mr. E. F. Clarke, M.P., Major Dixon, Ald. W. B. McMurrich, His Lordship Bishop Sullivan, Rev. Canon Cayley, Rev. Dr. Greig, Rev. Dr. Blackstock, Mr. Bertle Cawthra, Mr. W. T. Boyd, and Mr. Walter Barwick. There was a profusion of floral tributes from relatives and friends.
