Rev. J. A. McLachlan and Family Bereft.
The sad news reached Acton friends on Saturday of the death the day previous of Winnie, daughter of Rev. James A. McLachlan, M.A., of Port Elgin, formerly pastor of the Methodist Church here. It will be remembered that Miss Winnie was in poor health during their residence in Acton, and that a critical operation was performed for her relief. There was no permanent relief afforded her ailment, however, and she has gradually grown weaker. The remains were interred at Port Elgin on Monday afternoon. Winnie was possessed of a very lovable disposition and was a general favorite both in the home and in all circles wherever she moved. The sympathy of Mr. McLachlan's former congregation here and of many other friends is extended in this sad affliction.
