- Death of Mrs. William Smyth, Sr.
News has reached the FREE PRESS of the death on Saturday, 30th Jan., of Mrs. William Smyth, Sr., at the family homestead at Midford, in Parry Sound District. The family were for many years esteemed residents of this vicinity, and removed to their present abode about twenty years ago. Mrs. Smyth had been in poor health for several years, having fractured her hip by a fall, but the immediate cause of her death was an attack of pneumonia. Deceased was a lady much beloved by all who knew her, but to her family she was affectionately revered. Her husband and seven sons and two daughters were all present at the funeral on Tuesday, 2nd inst. The six eldest sons: W. T., of Acton; Thomas, of Penetang; James and Fred, of Toronto; and George and Arthur, of Muskoka, were the bearers. The other members of the family are Mrs. Stapells, Toronto, and Mrs. Connolly, South River. In his heavy bereavement Mr. Smith has the tenderest sympathy of his many Acton friends. - Media Type
