- Death of Mr. Sidney Saunders.
More than two years ago Mr. Sidney K. Saunders was stricken with Bright's disease and dropsy, but after several months' treatment his health seemed to be restored and he was able for nearly a year to be about again. Seven months ago he was again taken seriously ill and was confined to his house, until Monday morning life left the tired body. Mr. Saunders was an Englishman, a native of Dorsetshire. He and Mrs. Saunders were married at Wareham twenty-one years ago, and within a week left the old home for Canada. They were three years in Montreal and came to Acton about eighteen years ago. Mr. Saunders has been an employee of Messrs. Beardmore & Co., ever since he came here. He was a good citizen, was for years a churchwarden of St. Alban's Church, and was a member of the Sons of Scotland and L.O.L., and also of Acton Fire Brigade. Mrs. Saunders and three sons, John aged 17, Walter 14 and Bertie 11, are left to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. The funeral yesterday afternoon was largely attended and was conducted by Rev. J. G. Browne, B.A., in St. Alban's Church. Interment took place in Fairview Cemetery. The pall bearers were Mr. J. Lawson, V. S., and N. McLeod for the Fire Brigade; Ex-Reeve Swackhamer and W. R. Kenney for the Sons of Scotland; and H. Jeans, J.P., and G. Hildenbrand for the Orangemen's Lodge. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. In the great sorrow which has come to Mrs. Saunders and her family much sympathy is extended. - Media Type
