Death of Mrs. Michael Kaley.
After a very short illness from cancer of the stomach, Mrs. Michael Kaley passed peacefully away at the family residence, lot 21, second line, below Acton, on Monday morning. Mrs. Kaley was a daughter of the late Jos. Hilts, of Erin, and was born at Grimsby 65 years ago. When a girl of twelve years the family moved to Erin. She was married to her bereaved husband 33 years ago. Five sons and four daughters were born into the house, all of whom survive except Miss Annie, who died in January last. The family is as follows: Philip, in Toronto; James, in Hamilton; Michael, Joseph and John, and Misses Mary, Maggie and Lizzie at home. Mrs. Kaley was a woman highly esteemed, and in her home she was much beloved. At the funeral at St. Joseph's Church on Monday Rev. Father Feeny spoke of her as a devout Christian, faithful and beloved. His remarks were full of sympathy and kindly exhortation and were based upon Thess., 4th chap., and St. John, 11th chap., dwelling particularly upon the scene at the home of Mary and Martha, when Jesus arrived after the death of Lazarus. The funeral was largely attended. The bearers were James, Michael and Joseph, sons, and Oliver Hilts, Charles and John Gibbons. General sympathy is felt for the bereft family.
