Death of James Laidlaw.
Mr. James Laidlaw, an old and esteemed resident of Esquesing, died at the home of his brother, Mr. R. B. Laidlaw, Morris township, Huron county, on Sunday last at the ripe old age of eighty-four years. Mr. Laidlaw was the oldest son of the late Andrew Laidlaw and was born on lot No. 6, 4th con. Esquesing, which was the old Laidlaw homestead. He was married in 1855 to Margarie McPherson, daughter of the late John McPherson, and worked the farm on which he was born until he retired. Mrs. Laidlaw died a number of years ago. Deceased was a staunch Presbyterian. Two sisters and one brother are still living. The funeral took place from the 11 o'clock train to-day to Greenwood Cemetery. - Herald. Mr. Laidlaw was well known in Acton, frequently spending a week or so with friends here.
