Death of Finlay McCallum, Esquesing.
In the death at his home last Sunday of Finlay McCallum, Esq., Esquesing lost one of its oldest and most highly esteemed residents. Mr. McCallum was born at Lock Tay, Perthshire, Scotland, eighty years ago. In 1833 he came to Canada with his father, the late Duncan McCallum, who settled on lot 7, con. 1, Esquesing, which for seventy-five years was the home of the deceased. Mrs. McCallum and three sons and five daughters survive. Mr. McCallum was a good man and was connected with Boston Church from his boyhood days. He was well-known in Acton, was a nephew of the late Mrs. Janet Anderson, and was an executor of her estate. The funeral yesterday was very largely attended.
