- The Late Percy Griffith
Mrs. James Griffith and family have received numerous letters of sympathy touching the death of Percy, from the matron and nurses of the hospital at Pembroke, where he died very suddenly of typhoid fever. Rev. F. G. Lett, Methodist minister, of Pembroke, who visited Percy frequently during his illness, also wrote Mrs. Griffith a very consoling letter. He said: "The nurses have many kind words to say of Percy, his patience, cheerfulness and readiness to do everything required of him. He got the best of care and I think all was done that was in the power of doctors or nurses, but the terrible disease mastered him." I saw Percy last a few hours before he died. We talked of his giving himself to Christ. He said he had been too neglectful but for some time he had been thinking of it. He joined with me very earnestly in prayer for forgiveness. He said he was willing to commit himself for time and eternity to Jesus Christ." Mr. Griffith and family appreciate very much the sympathy of their former Acton friends in their great sorrow in losing two sons just entering manhood within a few weeks. - Featured Link
