After three years of painful illness the spirit of John Ruddick took its flight on Tuesday morning very peacefully. Pernicious anemia was his ailment, accompanied laterly by other troubles. Mr. Ruddick had a fine constitution and he fought the fight with an admirable courage. He and his family came to Acton from Nassagaweya seventeen years ago. In 1897 they removed to Manitoba, but returned within the year. Last year they moved to the farm where Mrs. Ruddick, daughter of the late Benjamin Anderson, was born. Here they were married, and here he died. Mr. Ruddick celebrated his 55th birthday and his 32nd wedding anniversary on Christmas day. He was a member of Knox Church and a man who enjoyed general esteem. Mrs. Ruddick and their two sons, John and Harold, and their daughter, Mrs. Wm. Ritchie, survive. The funeral will take place this aftrernoon at two o'clock. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
