THE DEATH OF CHARLIE PLANK
Passed Away After Ten Days' Illness
from Pneumonia at Lacombe,
Alberta
Mr. Fred Plank had the sad experience during the past week of a 2000 mile journey accompanying the remains home from Lacombe, Alta., of his brother, Charles, who died there on Wednesday of last week.
Charlie had a good position with the Massey-Harris Co., at Lacombe, and was doing well there. He was taken with a bad cold about the first of April and this developed into pneumonia. Fred, who is manager of the Red Deer Development Co., at Red Deer, proceeded at once to Lacombe, when apprised of his illness. About the first of last week he appeared to be much better, and the friends here were given this information. Great consternation and sorrow came to them, however, when a telegram was received on Thursday announcing his death.
Fred left for home that evening with the remains arriving here by the 2.25 train on Monday afternoon. The body was taken to the Baptist Church where service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Burrell, and interment took place at Fairview Cemetery.
Charlie Plank was a native of Acton a son of Mr. William Plank and was in his twenty-first year. He was a bright young man, of sterling character, an active Christian worker and just entering upon a life of great promise. Sincerest sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents and brothers and sisters.
