OBITUARY
F. SIDNEY EWENS, TORONTO
Following a sharp parlytic stroke, F. Sidney Ewens, of the publication department of the Methodist Book Room, died with startling suddenness [???]nday morning at his home at 190 [???]lyn Avenue, West Toronto. Mr. Ewens had been ill since before Christmas but it was not until a few hours before his death that it had assumed serious indications. He came to Acton with his father when a child and went to Toronto when fifteen to learn the printing business in the Methdoist Book Room. His aptitude early in apprenticeship won the admiration of Rev. Dr. Briggs, who rapidly advanced him to positions of responsibility. At his death he was at the head of the publication department and had for his associate Mr. E. J. Moore, B.A., another Acton boy. Mr. Ewens was an active Christian worker and an official member of High Park Avenue Methodist Church. He had much to do with the introduction and successful operation of Local Option in West Toronto. A sorrowing wife and five small children survive. Mr. Edward Ewens, his father, was for years an esteemed employee of the Canada Glove Works in Acton.
