OBITUARY
DR. L. L. BENNETT
Another of Georgetown's old and respected citizens has passed away in the person of Dr. L. L. Bennett. Deceased was in his 76th year. He was born in Nelson Township and was the youngest son of the late Thomas Bennett. He studied and practiced dentistry with the late Dr. Zimmerman and passed his examination before an Examininng Board at Toronto before the Dental College was established. He came to Georgetown in 1864 and has resided here continuously since that time. He was a life long Methodist. At the time of his death he was a member of the High School Board, Methodist Trustee Board, Methodist Quarterly Board and was also one of the Stewards. He was an ardent temperance worker and took deep interest in the moral welfare of the community. In politics he was a Conservative. Dr. Bennett was twice married, his first wife being Sarah Moore, who is survived by two children, Mrs. H. T. Arnold, Georgetown, and Mr. Clarence Bennett, buyer for the T. Eaton Co., of Winnipeg. His second wife was Jemima Powell who with two children, Mrs. E. B. Grinyer, of Guelph, and Miss Lillie A. M. Bennett, of Cleveland, Ohio, survive. In the passing of Dr. Bennett a good and worthy citizen has been removed from our midst. The funeral on Thursday afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery was very largely attended. - Herald.
