My name is Rob FELSKE and I have been a patrol constable with the Halton Regional Police Service for 6 years. During those 6 years, I have been assigned to Oakville, Georgetown, Milton and Acton. I have enjoyed working in Acton the most out of all of my assignments and thus I felt that the Village Constable position would allow me to entrench myself into this com- munity. During my tenure as the Acton Vil- lage Constable, I plan to participate in as many community committees as pos- sible and I would encourage any com- munity committee or group that would like to have a police representative to contact me. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. If you have any community or non-emergency police concerns that you would like addressed, please contact me via e-mail at rob. felske@hrps.on.ca or by telephone at 905-878-5511 x 2105. Sincerely, Rob FELSKE Introductions Gail & Jerry Thompson and Jane & Brian Robertson are pleased to announce the engagement of their children Krystle Thompson and Tom Robertson Wedding to take place July 15, 2006 ????????????????? ??????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????????????? ???? ???????????? Engagements LEGION NEWS By James Hayes P.R.O. BRANCH NO. 197 Comrades: Last Saturday the Branch hosted the District B coun- cil meeting; this full day affair brings together Le- gion members from the 11 Zones in our District from as far away as Simcoe and Woodstock, many of whom have not visited our Branch before. The admiring and en- vious comments directed to our president by our guests, makes me repeat we have the best Branch in a hundred miles. Your support and work will maintain that status. I was unable to attend the General Meeting last Mon- day night; I was not feeling very well. As I am writing these notes today I realize how important attendance at these meetings is to me; not just as your PRO, but as a member. I have to rely on second-hand information regarding the affairs of the Branch. The business of our Branch is important to me; I hope it is to you. I am advised that a Notice of Motion was made, that the By-Laws Review Committee will be presenting revised By-Laws at the March 13 General Meeting. Copies of the proposed changes will be available to voting members in good standing after Febru- ary 15, 2006. Membership chairman Kathleen Bevan has arranged a New Members Initiation Night for Friday, January 27 at 8p.m. Members not yet initiated will be advised. SPORTS: Chairman Ren Cunard has reported our Branch suc- cesses at the Zone bowling this past weekend in George- town. One regular Team (John Wagg, Bob Turkosz, Dave Thompson, Jerry Wis- combe, Bruce Clarke, and John Ahearn) and one senior team (Ann-Marie Lowen, Carl Fisker, Bob Doyle, Jim Cooney, Al Gardner, Dave Maloney) advanced to Dis- trict which will take place also in Georgetown on Jan 28/06. This weekend we have five teams attending Zone Cribbage at Branch 582 in Cooksville. There will be a bus running for this event and it will leave our Branch at 9a.m. sharp on Saturday, Jan. 14. Yours in comradeship, Jim Hayes, Branch PRO. Halton MPP Ted Chudleigh praised the organizing com- mittee and sponsors of the New Years Eve fundraiser at Miltons Country Heritage Park for a successful event. The party was sold out, said Mr. Chudleigh. Thats a testimony to the hard work of the organizing commit- tee headed up by Friends of Country Heritage Park and the support by the wider community in the goals of the Park. The fundraising event was born only a few weeks before the end of the year. Country Heritage Park was forced to replace an income stream derived from renting their parking facilities to the To- ronto Auto Auction during the winter months. New Years event for park SRO
