IN APPRECIATION: Sharron Rouse, Helen Fowler and Margaret Dunn were presented with award at Ladies Appreciation Night at the Acton Legion last Saturday. Helen Fowler received her 45 years service pin from the Ladies Auxiliary while Sharron and Margaret received Life Memberships in the Auxiliary. A life membership was also awarded to Rhona Thornhill who was unable to attend as was Eva Cutting who received a 30 year pin. -Photo by James Hayes. To the editor, On January 28, the Acton Rotary Club held a successful fundraiser in support of our planned band shell in Prospect Park. There are many people who helped to make the event successful, and we would like to thank them. Thanks to all of the friends of Rotary who sold tickets at their places of business. Thanks to Carl Fisker of the Acton Legion for all his help in setting up the facilities for the evening. Thanks to the entertainers who donated their time and talents to add to the enjoyment of the evening. They were: Jeff Lumley, The group B2D, The Gang from the Hill, Grant Daniels, all of Acton, and Judy Kanyo from Beaton, Ont. Thank you to Cheryl Beaton and her family for providing the lunch, and to Tim Hortons for the coffee and cups. Thanks to Ted Tyler Trav- el for arranging the Alaskan Cruise which was the grand prize of the Elimination Draw. The cruise was won by Mrs. Donna Love of Bowmanville, Ont. Thanks to the Acton Tanner for the great support of the event. Most importantly, we thank everyone who purchased a tick- et for the affair. We are pleased to tell you that we raised almost $7,000 which is a great start to our project. The next fundraiser is a dance on March 11, 06.
