The Acton Tanners Association bid farewell to executive members Steve Marshall, George Artem, Tony Sher- ren, Ron Sheehan and Gary Masters with thanks for all their years of dedication and commitment to mak- ing the organization what it is today. They will be missed. We wish you all the best on your much deserved R & R. The Tanners Minor Hockey Asso- ciation would like to acknowledge the coaches and staff for their time this season, the players for providing us with some exciting hockey and the parents for their support. Looking for golfers Although lawns need rak- ing, spring cleaning must be done and theres a lengthy honey-do list, the Acton Mens Golf Leagues sign- up time is on tap. Interested golfers must sign up at Acton Meadows golf course with Maggie before May 31. Registration for either 10 or 20 game packages are available from the pro shop. The first 140 golfers to sign up will be eligible to golf either Wednesday or Thursday nights. After the first 140 are signed up, Thursday nights only are available. League play commences on June 7. Tourney assist hospital Far from Par is having its annual golf tournament again this year with proceeds go- ing to the Hospital for Sick Children. This is the eighth year for the tournament and it has raised $35,000 for the hospital to date. Cost is $85 per person which includes golf, dinner, cart and prizes. Sponsorships include $300 for a hole, $150 for T-blocks and greens. Sponsors get a laminated sign at their hole. Specialty holes will have prizes.
