When Georgio Tortellini died, he left his estate to be shared equally between his two daughters, Olive and Toni; an estate in excess of $25 million! That was the plot in the Acton Old Town Hall Dinner Theatres pre- sentation of Vintage Murder on Saturday evening. As the members of the Tortellini family and their extended hangers-on cir- culated among the guests at the winery auction, an intriguing story began to unfold. The executor of the estate, Carmine Blanca the late Georgio Tortellinis driver, had plans to sell the winery, hence the auction. But alas, not everyone was in favour of selling and in fact there were a number of hidden agendas that began to unfold during the evening culminating in not one but two grizzly murders! While enjoying a deli- cious meal the audience was harassed and cajoled into participation by the talented cast of the Acton Old Town Hall Dinner Theatre who stayed in character the en- tire evening, chatting up the audience and dropping hints right, left and centre! Because both murders were witnessed by the guests at the winery auc- tion, they were corralled into assisting the local officer of the law and the Tortellini security cop to determine who the killer was! Each table of diners was given an opportunity to explain who they thought the perpetra- tor was and why which ended the evening with great hilarity as the amateur sleuths spouted forth such far-fetched conclusions to murders most foul. All profits from this very entertaining evening are shared by the Acton Old Town Hall Dinner Theatre and Heritage Acton.
