During February and March 2006, some 375 res- idents of East Wellington agreed to be part of a phone survey about their use of health services over the past two years. The Task Group is now us- ing the results of the survey as it identifies the specific primary health care services most needed locally. Next, they will have to develop a business case, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care over the summer. Ministry staff have recently been out to Erin for the purpose of briefing interested doctors. We are indeed grateful to have received so many thoughtful responses, said Derek Bloomfield, Presi- dent of EWAG. This input will help us design the best possible team for the com- munity. Following Ministry ap- proval of the overall plan, there will be additional steps needed before the Family Health Team becomes op- erational and sees its first patient. The annual meeting of Dublin Womens Institute was held on April 19 at the R.R.#2 Rockwood home of Barb Wilson with Sharon An- derson acting as co-hostess. Jean McLean (secretary/ treasurer) presented her fi- nancial report, and this was accepted. The nominating committee submitted their report, and Maisie Lasby (Branch Director) installed officers for the coming year. The guest for the evening was Brenda Mathies, who brought members up-to-date with 4H activities in the area. She is looking for support, either financial or items for craft-making, etc. She is also collecting used ink jet cartridges to raise funds.
