24 THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2006 WALK WITH MAYOR: Everyone who participated in the Walk with the Mayor at the Gellert Centre dur - ing Seniors Week enjoyed the walk around the grounds with not only Mayor Rick Bonnette but Terry Alyman, director of recreation and parks, and Councillor Jon Hurst. Joining them were, Nives Bozic, Julie Conroy, Marj Lane, Eileen Dix, and Heinz Rouche during Seniors week. Missing from the photo is Trina Noel. Blastball June 20 Blue Jays vs Orioles The Blue Jays were on their game this week with Barrett Catalfamo swinging and hitting really well. Peyton Catalfamo caught a line drive up the right field. Tristan Wight caught a bounce off of Bens Foot. Good thing the Orioles were hot this week with Caleb Downs hitting a whopper. Riley Thornhill was right behind him swinging hard and hitting even harder, and Calvin Newbery making a great stop. Eagles vs Falcons Hats off to Josh Rhynold for a great catch on a liner up the middle. He caught the ball on a one-hop and quickly took the ball out of his glove, holding it up in the air and yelling BLAST. Josh plays for the Acton Falcons. Acton Minor Ball Town Rec Dept. has lots of programs Recreation & Parks has a variety of general and specialty camps to keep children interested all day long this summer! For the sport enthusiast, choose from Sport Adventures, Basketball or Soccer Camp in Acton. Creative Kids Camp in Acton and Dance and Cheer- leading Camp at the Gellert provide a more arts focused experience. Youth (11 to 15) We also offer pro- grams that target young teens. Girls Week Out and Just the Guys are great places to hang out with friends, try out new activities, and do all the guy and girl stuff you love to do!
