Monday night the mayor asked Public Works Direc- tor Rick Henry to seek increased inspections from the Ministry of Transporta- tion (MTO) for heavy trucks entering the town. Disturbed by the amount of truck traffi c, particularly gravel trucks, trying to ne- gotiate Actons narrow main street, Bonnette speculated that a lot of them are try- ing to bypass MTO weigh scales on Highway 401. Maybe we can discour- age them if MTO was to come and do inspections on trucks entering the town. If the word gets out, they may think twice about their route, he said. Coun.
