The seven top adjectives were; humane, respectful, empathetic, personal, forthright, confident and thorough. A good feeling about your doctor does help your overall physical and emotional health. *A study of 15,000 people (age 40-70) in England and the U.S. found that diabetes was twice as high in the U.S .than in England. Also heart disease and high blood pressure were more common in the U.S. . This has a lot to do with body weight. Keeping your weight down to normal will decrease health risks. *Every year throughout the world, 50 billion tables of A.S.A. (aspirin) are swallowed. It is used as an anti- inflammatory drug, pain and fever reliever although acetaminophen is used more for fever reduction. A.S.A.s main use is to help keep the platelets in the blood from sticking together. Even though A.S.A. is available without a prescription talk to your doctor first before using. *Always get professional advice when taking any new medication. Although A.S.A. has been around for 100 years, it can cause problems. Before you take it, talk about it. The first was in June at Arta, in the Distillery District. The gallery chose to show her sculpture What Abimelech Saw. It depicts Isaac and Rebekah cavorting in a gar- den. To avoid famine, Isaac and Rebekah immigrated to the southern region of Gerar, where Abimelech was king. Afraid that the Philistines would kill him in order to take his beautiful wife, Isaac lied, saying Rebekah was his sister. Later, the king spied them cavorting in the garden and quickly deduced that they were really husband and wife. Afraid of the wrath of God if anybody fooled with Rebekah, Abimelech sent out a decree that they were indeed married and Rebekah was to be left alone. Lee said that this show was a lot of fun. She par- ticularly appreciated that explanations of the art were displayed on the walls. She felt that this gave visitors a better understanding of what they were seeing and stimu- lated many discussions. The second show was en- titled Summer Heat at the Queen East Gallery. This gallery also chose to exhibit What Abimelech Saw, with the theme of the show being all things steamy. Lee said she was one of only two art- ists there that worked with bronze. She enjoyed meeting other artists and learning of their experiences. The third was the 8th Annual Juried Emerging Sculptors Show, sponsored by the Sculptors Society of Canada and held at the By Rebecca Ring Hot on the heels of winning the ORSA championship title, the Rockwood Rebels Midget Girls team won the Intercounty League championship in three games. They played against Drayton Moorfi eld in the best of fi ve series. To recap game one, on August 14 the Rebels mercied Drayton, winning 10-0 with Rebecca Warmington pitching a no-hit- ter in Eden Mills. Game two was played in Drayton last Thursday. The Rebels won 12-2 with Warmington on the mound. Game three, at Lloyd Dyer Park on Tues- day night, saw the Rebels down 3-0 in the fi rst inning. Refusing to lose, the Rebels came back to score 14 runs in the next six innings and took the game 14-3 to win the series. Megaan McNamara hit a home run and Warmington pitched another great game for the victory. Coach Paul Parkinson said the team worked hard and had an excellent year, los- ing only one game. They certainly earned these trophies.
