As you drive into Acton, the small year-round sign says it all: Acton A Proud Terry Fox Run Commu- nity. August 29. A 911 caller reported see- ing the youths setting fires and Acton firefighters extin- guished a burning wooden box and called police. Firefighter hurt An injured off-duty fire- fighter used his cell phone to call for help from inside his smashed vehicle follow- ing a two-vehicle accident on Highway 25, north of 10 Side Road at 1:43 p.m. on August 29. Police said a southbound vehicle slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway and collided with a northbound vehicle. The southbound vehi- cle rolled and hit a sign on the opposite side of the highway; the driver, a 20-year-old Mississauga woman, received minimal injuries and a passenger was not hurt. She was charged with making an unsafe turn. The second driver a 52-year-old rural Acton firefighter, suffered minor injuries.
