People will be able to work on their resumes, they will be able to attend workshops and seminars on interview skills, resume preparation and job search techniques, and well also hold special workshops for teens for the Christmas shop- ping season and summer, Dorbeck said, adding they also have apprenticeship and trade program information. One-on-one help will be available to critique resumes and interview skills and for career counselling. They expect to see 750 clients 165 in the first six months during the two- year contract, with many repeat clients. Finding a job is a pro- cess, not an event. You cast a line, Dorbeck said, adding that along with all of the latest job search resources, the staff are the right ones for the job. Weve all been unem- ployed and know what it feels like for most of us, it was not good, although some see unemployment as a challenge and have a fantas- tic attitude. We want to make this a warm and welcoming place where people can get the support they need. Dorbeck said the six com- puters at the Centre are huge tools in the search for a job. You can research any career and there are web sites that actually forecast the need for that career, in- cluding salaries and related occupations. That is a great help, along with on-line suitability and skills assess- ments that people can do to find their strengths and areas of interest, Dorbeck said.
