This was not a day the Bulls were able to weather the Storm, losing a tough game 6-4. The Tanners started out slow in the first period with Tyler Christopher get- ting that all-important first goal assisted by Adam Duval. The second period saw Greg Wells putting in goal number two for Acton assisted by Ryan Dunlevy. The third period saw Acton score two more times, courtesy of Adam Duval assisted by Josh Tremblay and TJ Baker for the first and Tyler Christopher assisted by Adam Duval for the second. Goaltender Greg Slowka stood his ground, doing his best to keep the Tan- ners in the game. Much to the chagrin of Tanner supporters, a decision to call back two Acton goals did not help the Bulls drive and subsequently the game. Edge Dundas In their second game on the road, the Peewee Tanners visited Dundas on No- vember 8 to square off with the Blues. After a tough loss two days earlier, the Bulls were going to settle for nothing less than a victory. Unfortunately Dundas was not going to hand over a win without a fight and a hard fought battle on the ice courtesy of the Bulls offensive drives succeeded in ruffling the Blues netting in the first period, courtesy of Adam Duval assisted by Josh Tremblay. In the second period Tyler Christopher, assisted by Greg Wells, again managed to put one between the pipes. The third period saw Josh Tremblay, assisted by Tyler Christopher and Greg Wells, score goal number three. The final tie-breaking rubber bullet came courtesy of Adam Duval, assisted by Mitchell Brake. The Bulls defensive team shut down the Blues attempt to tie the game but Mitchell Christopher laid the ground- work between the pipes to secure a 4-3 victory. By Edith McDonell After a week without a game, Acton Firefighters Bantam AE Tanners re- sumed where they had left off with a 6-1 victory over Hespeler Shamrocks on Wednesday, November 8. It was the second meeting between these two teams. The first period followed the usual pattern estab- lished by our boys play in both ends with a few good chances but not much scor- ing until Brandon Braga received a pass from team- mate Josh McDonell with 2:41 left to break open the scoring and take the lead. Several minutes into the second period the Tanners jumped ahead with two quick goals being scored by the same line within one shift. Josh McDonell made a nice rush down the ice to outplay the Hespeler goalie unassisted. This was fol- lowed 35 seconds later by line-mate Josh Knight also placing one in the net. However, the Shamrocks were not about to give up. They answered with a goal of their own on the Tanners goalie Colton Wiens who until that point had very little business to handle. The period was closed out by defenceman Macken- zie Morrison turning the play around at the blue line, puck-handling past two Hespeler players and patiently deking the goalie for his second goal of the season unassisted. The Tanners held the game well under control in the third period although the Shamrocks did try to do some damage sending Brandon Masini flying and spinning with several major spills including a pile up in front of the Hespeler net with him emerging from the bottom (still smiling and ready for more hockey). Two more goals would finish the game in a 6-1 final score. These came as a back-hander from Josh McDonell over the Hes- peler goalie while playing short-handed and a quick top corner shot from Jacob Dougan. Assists were awarded to Josh McDonell, John White, Stefan Smelsky and Mackenzie Morrison. The Bantam AE team will be participating in the Silverstick tournament in Wellesley, Ontario from November 16-19, 2006. We wish the boys good luck. Lets go Tanners.
