Our14th year, and the best yet, thanks to so many volunteers and the generosity of the participants. Dec. 14 was a beautiful night which possibly was the reason for the biggest crowd to date. Once again we must thank everyone for helping put such a huge community event together. With entry by invitation only the spectators are assured that every float will be spectacular. Next year you should try and view the parade on the 4th Line or # 7 west, away from street and other competing lights. It is much bet- ter. Special thank you to: Guelph/Eramosa township council, office staff, roads and public works dept., volunteer fire dept. with assistance from Puslinch, Erin and Hillsburgh; Wellington OPP; County of Wellington; Ministry of Transportation; Chantlers Portable Service Ltd.; Drexler Construction; Cox Construction; Tyler and Debbie Brander; local newspapers; radio stations; Rockwood and District Lions Club; Cogeco Cable TV with Neil Millson and Rob Gray as colour com- mentators; Mr. and Mrs. Santa; trucking Cos., buses and local residents who were inconvenienced; 4th Line farmers for much needed off-road parking and many, many others too numerous to mention. Next years parade will be Dec.13, 2007. Videos and DVDs of the parade are available at Rockwood T.V. Thanks again, The Rockwood Farmers Parade of Lights Committee. Parade another huge success LETTERS To the editor, A delicious turkey dinner was enjoyed by approximate- ly 60 people on Christmas Day 2006 at Beth-El Christian Reformed Church in Acton. We wish to thank the church for allowing us to use their facilities for our 4th annual Community Christmas dinner. A round of applause also to the many people in our town who provided dishes for the meal that includ- ed slaw, potatoes, hams, vegetables and desserts. Pau- lette, you did a great job of organizing that! Pauline, Joan and Diane: the turkeys you cooked were delicious. We appreciated the families who came out to assist with set up, serving and clean up. Some quick thinking in the kitchen saved the day and we were able to enjoy warm turkey and eat on schedule almost! Gifts donated to the dinner by Links2Care were distributed by Jack (our carol singing director and host) and Joyce Carpenter with the as- sistance of a few volunteer elves. Thanks to all of you! Marci and Gwen, we couldnt have done it without you. You posted flyers, delivered meals and did all that was neces- sary in between to prepare. Thank you also to The New Tanner for your advertising. As always I am in dan- ger of forgetting to mention someones contribution and I apologize for that. The success of the dinner is de- pendent on the participation of many people who contrib- ute in various ways. Judging by the smiles on everyones faces the dinner was enjoyed by guests and helpers alike. Thank you for making Christ- mas what it should be a time of love and sharing!
