January 29 - February 16, 2007 Town of Halton Hills 1 Halton Hills Drive Halton Hills, ON L7G 5G2 905-873-2601, ext. 2274 The Town of Halton Hills is developing a The plan will examine the provision of recreation and parks services and facilities and identify strategies to address current and future needs of our community. Recreation & Parks Strategic Action Plan. Share your ideas! Talk to your neighbours, Councillors and community groups. The Recreation and Parks De- partment is seeking help from local residents to participate in a house- hold survey on the Departments Strategic Action Plan. The Plan is being undertaken to examine why the Town offers the programs, ser- vices and facilities that it does, ways to address recreational needs while being financially responsible, and what needs to be done in order to address the publics needs now and in the future. The survey should take about ten minutes to complete and will be con- ducted by Monteith-Brown Planning Consultants, a firm widely known in the industry for their work in the rec- reational field. It will be conducted in order to seek the publics input on the draft information compiled to date. Rather than conducting the sur- vey at the start of the process, which is sometimes done, we have pur- posely shifted the survey to a point in the process where the public can comment on particular issues and findings that have arisen from the public consultation to date said Ter- ry Alyman, Director of Recreation and Parks. It is a great opportunity to comment on specific issues and will provide supporting rationale for the Plan by consolidating data from over 385 residents. Surveys will be conducted be- tween January 29 and February 16, with draft recommendations prepared for public review at public meetings April 25 (Acton ) and April 26 (Georgetown). More information is available at the Town website www.haltonhills.ca , by e-mailing actionplan@haltonhills.ca, or by contacting Project Lead Warren Harris at (905) 873 2601 extension 2274.
