Daughters of Knox embark on busy year of activities Daughters of Knox, the mission group at Knox Presby- terian Church, Acton, have embarked on what promises to be a busy year, beginning with the installation of officers by Rev. Pieter VanHarten during the Sunday services on January 14. They will be hosting the World Day of Prayer service at Knox on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m., with representatives from the other churches in town participating. Everyone is invited to attend, whether affiliated with a local church or not. On Friday, March 16 at 6 p.m. they will be serving their annual St. Patricks Dinner, and tickets will be on sale soon. In order to have an idea of how many will be served, they are trying to encourage people to buy tickets in advance. Numbers will be limited, so only tickets which are not pre- sold, if any, will be available at the door. Two Ds and a B will be entertaining after dinner. Daughters of Knox are continuing efforts to better un- derstand the problem of HIV/AIDS, particularly in Third World countries, and to raise funds to help those suffering from the effects of this terrible affliction. They also help with many needs closer to home, and appreciate all the support they enjoy from friends and neighbours.
