Down by a goal in the second game John Matthews tied it up in the third period, sending the game into over- time. Heading into the second overtime frame, and needing a win to earn a spot in the finals, Matthews again scored, securing the team a berth in the finals. Facing a tough team from New Tecumseth in the con- solation round Rallis Family Burger came up on the short end of a 4-3 game. Rallis goals were scored by Tyler Borg (1) & John Matthews (2), which earned him Player of the Game honours. For the second year, girls from Halton Hills Gymnastics Centre recently trav- elled to the Lucky Star Invitational meet in Jamestown, NY. For some of the girls (Level 7), it was their first time to the States, and they came home with a good experi- ence and some good results. The girls (Level 8 & 9) who went for their second year and competed at a higher level than last year, also did well. Results were: Xhosa Bake Age 9 (Level 7) finished with AA(2nd). Melanie Butler Age 9 (L- 7) Vault (9.0), Bars (9.0), BBeam (9.3), Floor (9.3), AA(1st). Marissa Parker Age 12 (L-7) placed 4th on Floor. Caralyn Hale Age 13 (L-7) got (9.1) on Bars. Justine Wallace Age 13 (L-7) V(9.1), BB(9.625), F(9.7), AA(1st). Emily Krusky Age 10 (L-8) got (9.45) for 3rd place on BB. Tiffany Gilles Age 11 (L-8) BB(9.4), F(9.55). Freeda Murphy Age 11 (L-8) got (9.4) on Beam. Jennifer Garvie Age 14 (L-8) V(9.0), BB(9.3), F(9.45) 1st place, AA(6th). Amanda Nellis Age 15 (L-8). Bianca Jordaan Age 12 (L-9) finished with AA(1st). In Elmira, N.Y., a couple weeks later, the girls were again ready to compete at the Elmira Spring Fling. The girls were scored a little harder at this meet but put in some good results.
