Dr Nather Alshakarji, who currently practises at the Acton Medical Centre on Mill Street, plans to build a two-storey, 16,706-square-foot medical centre for fi ve doctors, a dentist, a pharmacy and caf Plans for a physicians residence were withdrawn. Planning staff said although a medical centre is not an allowed use with the ex- isting Offi cial Plan, it is compatible with existing commercial uses in the neighbor- hood and wont have a negative impact on residences in the area. Since water for develop- ment is so scarce Halton has instituted a freeze on de- velopment until additional water and waste water ca- pacity is found the Town is attempting to squeeze all the water it can from the existing sources, including recapturing unused water allocations from developers who havent used what they been granted. The Town identifi ed three Acton developments with unused capacity and they were given 30 days to ex- plain how they intended to move ahead and use their water allocation, or it would be reclaimed and re- distributed to much-needed industrial/commercial de- velopment.
