GEORGETOWN KIA SUPERSTORE (Dixie Auto Group) Call Dave Watson 905-877-8375 Gagnon says that the City of Guelph plans to hire a full time person to run their program. Accord- ing to White, Guelph must check 100 homes compared to 30 in this municipality, although the city has ten to 12 times the population of the township. Council discussed the program on the heels of receiving Gagnons report on the MOEs annual water inspection. He told coun- cil, Since the Township of Guelph/Eramosa has had minimal or no viola- tions and no orders have been issued for non-com- pliance in our last three inspections, the MOE conducted a Focused In- spection rather than their usual full inspection. This involved a physical inspec- tion and sampling of Cross Creek Huntington and Rockwood well supplies, with a document review of both systems. Samples within limits For Rockwood, the re- port states that Wellhead Protection Areas and Mi- crobial Control Plans are due to be completed by De- cember 31 and are on time. The costs were budgeted into the 2007 Water Capital Budget. As for water qual- ity monitoring, sampling for inorganics, lead and organics was missed on February 6. However, the MOE was notified and immediate action was tak- en to collect and analyze the required samples. The samples proved to be with- in limits. A new sampling program was submitted to the MOE, with no further action required. In the past year, there were three water quality problems: two incidents of Total Coliform (bacte- ria) reaching 1cfu/100ml in the distribution system and higher than recom- mended levels of fluoride. Gagnon reports that cor- rective action was taken and notification was given. Fluoride is naturally occur- ring in the source water. For Hamilton Drive, the MOE recommended that the township install stain- less steel boxes with locks on the wells to prevent van- dalism. The same samples were missed on February 6 as in Rockwood and the same actions were taken. In the past year, there were two water qual- ity problems in this well supply: Total Coliform reached 1cfu/100ml in the distribution system and in the treated water. Gagnon reports, All the appropri- ate corrective actions and notifications were given. A new sampling program was submitted to the MOE, with no further action re- quired. In July of this year a victim came forward to police to report having been defrauded by Find A Car in mid 2006. Police said the company was contacted by the victim in order to have them locate a vehicle for him and arrange the financing to purchase it. Arrangements were made for the vehicle purchase and the vehicle was delivered to the man by Find A Car. Unbeknownst to the victim however, until approximately 6 months after the vehicle was delivered, the contract sent to the financing company had been altered. Police said the alterations to the contract resulted in the victim being defrauded of over $7,000. Attempts by the victim to rectify the situation with the financing company and with Find A Car were futile. Then the victim came to police. Contact can be made with Halton Regional Police Ser- vice Criminal Investigations Bureau at (905) 878-5511 Extension 2419.
