My headline says it all. Please, except for the pet show, leave Fido at home. We have nothing against mans best friend but the fair is no place for your pooch. There is way too much noise, people, and especially excited children running around. After the pet show you will be asked to take your dog home. If police or fair board mem- bers see your dog on the grounds you will be asked to leave. This is strictly a safety measure. Heaven forbid your animal snaps at a child and hurts them. Your hand stamp allows you to return to the fair. All in all it promises to be a great weekend. Dont any- one mention the r word. See you at the fair. Acton Fall Fair September 14-15-16 More than a fall fair... 2006 QUEEN: Miss Acton, Sarah OHearn poses with her court, first runner up Cheri Holmes (left) and second runner-up Brittany Rukaszewski following the pageant to last years Acton Fall Fair. Miss Acton Pageant... ing is complete, finalists are chosen and they are asked to answer an unknown ques- tion. Qualities judges will be looking for in this years winner are: her ability to make people feel comfort- able; her friendliness and attitude; public speaking and presentation; poise and control. Contestants bring two outfits for the night of the pageant. The first conser- vative and something one would wear to an office job interview, is followed by a second formal outfit reflecting how they would want to portray themselves if chosen to be Miss Acton. Make-up services are avail- able to those who wish to use them as stage lighting is very bright and can wash out. Being a contestant of the Miss Acton Pageant is always a wonderful experi- ence and a chance to learn about yourself and your community. All contestants receive a gift and passes to this years fair. If you think you or someone you know would like to par- ticipate in the Miss Acton Pageant, please contact me and I will give you further details about the time, says Leigh Whiting, Chair, Miss Acton Fall Fair Committee, at (905) 873-7318 or email: leighwhiting@yahoo.com.
