With materials donated by Leathertown Lumber, Mr. Blackwood oversaw the building of the 25 bird boxes, autographed by the children and placed in the open space at key points. Other neighbours joined in to help with the planting of native trees and shrubs such as spruce, cedar and silver maple in order to improve the natural en- vironment. A new trail constructed by the Town this summer from Danville Avenue to Dr. Moore Court has formalized the link through the area, and will benefit from the additional plantings done over the weekend.
