The Saturday breakfast, was served to a record 360 patrons, and our thanks as always to the usual sus- pects in the kitchen, the plate wash, and out on the auditorium fl oor. The Branch attended the fair parade with two full colour parties, and their turnout did Branch 197 proud. President Wes was, however, a little dis- appointed to see so few members willing to show up and march with the colours. Our thanks as always to Tyler Transport for provid- ing the shuttle bus service for our members and Fall Fair patrons. The Saturday afternoon BBQ team put in a full shift, and then some. Entertainment Chairman Marcel Poirier doing prep work for the BBQ now knows how many onions it takes to make you cry. The Saturday afternoon entertainment was moved to the games room, and we enjoyed the one man band talent of Jim Mulicow, a 34 year (still serving) member of the Canadian Airforce stationed at Base Borden. We still have a couple of days of Legion Week left; might be the time to introduce those friends you have been threatening to bring down to the Branch. Sports: The horseshoes are continuing to get good support. Come on down the weatherman is treat- ing us fi ne at the moment. Indoor Entertainment: The Acton Mens In- dustrial Cribbage League, starts on October 11 and runs through to next April. You do not have to be a legion member to play in this league; for further info call Dobbie Frizzell at 853-2021. Coming Events: Distr ict B Conven- tion, Oct.12-14 hosted by Branch 197.
