Last year, he trapped 300 muskrat and 25 mink on Guelph/Eramosa road allowances. He used conibears and subtraps. These traps have stirred controversy in the area after a pet Jack Russell was killed by a conibear trap in Guelph last December while walking with his owner, Tara Szczgiel. She was part of a delegation that spoke to council last February asking for a ban or modifications on hunting and trapping in Guelph/Eramosa. Other speakers included Karen Levenson and Liz White of Animal Alliance Canada, and Ainslie Willock of Canadians for Fur Bearing Animals.
