I see there is a free swim on Tuesday, Oct. 16 from 9 10 a.m., at the Acton Pool for anyone 55+. What greater way to start the fall by taking advantage of this opportunity, sponsored by Ruth Bowes of Royal LePage. There is also a free swim spon- sored by Youngs Pharmacy at the Gellert Centre the same day from 11 a.m. 12 p.m. I know several members enjoy the exercise program each week at the Gellert Pool. Thinking of keeping fit, did you read the great article about one of our very active members, Victor Bissonnette in last weeks Tanner? Victor is an avid hiker and cyclist, and chairperson of our so- cial dinner committee. The next social dinner they have planned is on Friday, Oct. 26, and will have an Oktoberfest theme. Tickets will be on sale shortly. One game that isnt too energetic but everyone enjoys is Carpet Bowling, and the season is underway again this fall. There were eight bowlers last week and they has a great afternoon. Stella Brunelles Brown team beat Pat Jones Black team 15 to 10. Come out and join them on a Monday afternoon. They start at 1 p.m. Water colour classes restart on Wednesday, Oct. 10. There will be a sign-up sheet if you are interested. Maria Sallay is the well-qualified teacher and I am sure you have all seen samples of her beautiful pictures around town. The Scrap Booking and Memories presentation wasnt very well attended, which is a shame as everyone who was here learned a few new tricks and skills. Scrap book- ing starts again on Monday, Oct. 15 at 6:45 p.m. and will run once a month if there is enough interest. If you are interested just show up with your pictures. Mae Milton had the only Mooner at last Thursdays Bid Euchre. Congratulations Mae. Sheila Foster tells me she is close to approaching the 500 goal for Izzy Dolls, but she still needs more to accomplish this. In order to gather public input, and increase commu- nity awareness of the Towns Green Plan Task Force, the Town has added a new link to its website the Green Plan link. Adding the Green Plan to the Towns website is an excellent way to gather feedback from the citizens of our Town, said Mayor Rick Bonnette. The Green Plan was launched by the mayor in June of this year. Information regarding the Towns Green Plan Project as well as Halton Hills environmental initiatives can be found at: http://www. haltonhills.ca/greenplan The Green Plan link also provides an opportunity for anyone to provide the Task Force with their green ideas. Members of the public are encouraged o access a com- ment form at the above noted location, and to forward their environmental thoughts and suggestions to the Task Force before the end of October. Doing so will allow the Green Plan Task Force to consider these suggestions prior to the preparation of the final project report. Interested in learning more about the Green Plan Task Force?
