The surprise of the after- noon was the presentation of a plaque to comrade George DeRabbie , the Branch Maintenance Chairman for Service Above & Beyond during the extensive renova- tions carried out in the last 6 months at the Branch. Comrade Joyce Buchanan, described by comrade Wes Kutasienski as Mother to us all was presented with a basket in appreciation of her on going guidance and support of the executive committee. The Legion is holding a COMEDY NIGHT on Friday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. in the Games room, everyone who has heard Troy Winters knows he is the perfect can- didate to headline this event. We are taking it a step further and asking for audience participation. If you have a funny joke or a good story feel free to share it and you will be eligible for a prize. Santa Claus will be mak- ing his annual visit to the Branch on Sunday Dec. 9. Entertainment starts at 1 p.m. With Santa scheduled to ar- rive at 2:30 p.m. A Gremlin crept into last weeks notes, only the eli- gible children, of paid up members, are allowed to attend. Special guests attending was Ethel Eastwood, Zone Command- er, Sheila Hicks, Deputy Zone Commander and Shir- ley Stacey, Zone Treasurer. Saturday, Nov. 10 we will have our Remembrance Day parade. Meet at the Olde Hide House parking lot at 10:15 a.m. Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Branch service is at 12:20 p.m., dinner at 1:15 p.m. Please try to attend ladies if you are able to help in any way regarding the din- ner, please contact Fern. The ladies were delighted and surprised to get the news regarding our annual Christ- mas outing.
