Captain Richard Chapman completed four years as Commanding Officer and the squadron banner was passed to Captain Reg Cooke. On hand for the ceremo- ny was Major F. Phillips, Area Cadet Advisor to 197 Squadron based at our re- gional detachment office in Toronto and Major Retired Robert T. Holliday, Air Ca- det League representative. The Parents Sponsor- ing Committee, Staff and Cadets presented Captain Chapman with a token of appreciation for his leader- ship over the past four years and recognition was also provided by Detachment Commander Major Burton in the form of a certificate of appreciation. Captain Chapman will continue to participate in squadron activities by heading up ground school instruction which prepares cadets for applications to the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Glider Training Centre and Power Training Camps through scholarships offered by the Air Cadet League of Canada. Captain Cooke, who has been with the squadron for several years, most re- cently in the role of Deputy Commanding Officer and Administration Officer, looks forward to moving the efforts of 197 Squadron for- ward this year. Inspection at the Change of Command Thanks mayor.... Continued from Page 8 could be self financing. The Mayor at that time told me he would pass it on to the hydro for evaluation. This is many months ago. I have been unable to con- tact the Mayor by e-mail, and would like to know what the hydro says, if anything. John Shadbolt. Try a Tanner Ad.
