Come to Off The Wall Youth Center at 45 Mill Street East and have your photo taken with Santa before the Santa Claus Parade. Photos are free, compliments of the Acton BIA, and pictures will be taken between 11:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. (Santa has to leave for the parade at 1:00). Photos can be picked up at Off The Wall Youth Center after the parade. Our Christmas lights are up and the streets have been swept just in time for Santa to arrive. November is also the kick-off for our Sharing Tree. Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at BMO Bank of Montreal, Scotia Bank, Blue Springs Spa, Acton Optical and Prosperity One Credit Union. This is a great oppor- tunity for you to share the Christmas spirit by donating unwrapped gifts for adults and children to be distributed through the Acton Christmas Hamper Society to families in time for Christmas. Starting December 1st the Acton BIA is sponsoring a Get Caught Shopping in Downtown Acton campaign. Heres how it will work. Bring receipts adding up to $100 from 3 different stores in downtown Acton to the Acton BIA office at 16 Mill Street East and you will receive $10 worth of Acton BIA Bucks to be spent in downtown Acton! Not a bad deal for just shopping in your hometown! The campaign will run from December 1 the 20. Mark Saturday December 8th on your calendar! The Acton BIA is sponsoring an Olde Fashioned Christmas. Special events have been planned throughout the day for your enjoyment. A community carol sing featuring the Acton Citizens Band will be held in the Parkette at Mill and Main at 1:00 p.m. Free horse and carriage rides starting at 1:00 p.m. in front of MacKinnon Family Funeral Home. Local entertainers, Area Code 519 and the Innovations will be strolling downtown Acton and singing in our local shops and restaurants. So come on downtown for a day of fun filled activities for the whole family. There will be free hot chocolate and apple cider served at various locations. Remember: It pays to shop local! Thanks Acton for supporting your downtown shops and restaurants. Have You Been Good?
