Santa Claus is making his fi rst appearance in Acton in the annual Santa Claus parade which starts from the McKenzie- Smith Bennett middle school on Acton Blvd. at 1pm. Parade chairman Bill Spielvogel has signed up six bands including the always popular Acton Citizens Band. Georgetown Pipe Band, Guelph Ajax Band, Dutch Boys Drum and Bugle Band from Kitchener, Typhoon Squadron of the Air Cadets and the new Prime Time Brass Band which delighted people in Kitchener and Guelph. Spielvogel is also expecting at least 30 fl oats for the parade all designed to this years parade theme: A Disney Christmas. Hes hoping it all comes together as it has other years because thousands will line Actons streets to welcome Santa and his big parade. Austin was part of the solemn ceremony in the bright, fall sun, reciting In Flanders Fields from memory.
