Despite predictions of a green Toronto Christmas, the weather guys think theres enough left from last weekends big storm to keep everyone in the area dreaming of a white Christmas despite temperatures above freezing. It looks like Santa will be OK on Christmas Eve when the mercury dips. Candlelight services, pageants all part of celebration Churches in Acton and area are celebrating Christmas in a variety of ways including childrens and candlelight services, carols and readings. Some are having their ser- vices on Sunday evening as opposed to Christmas Eve. The prelude to the Christmas season, Advent, was ushered in with a community Advent service at Bethel Christian Reform Church on December 2, the fi rst Sunday in Advent with the Acton Ministerial Association. At St. Josephs Church, preparations for Christmas began also with an Advent Retreat preached by Bishop Ustrzyobe. St. Albans Anglican Church which follows a liturgical schedule, has three services on Christmas Eve beginning with a childrens service at 5 p.m. for children and grand- parents alike. A family service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the traditional Christmas Eve service is at 11 p.m. with Rev. Canon J. Mark Tiller. At Bethel Bethel Christian Reform Church is having a Christ- mas candlelight service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday which includes a Christmas pro- duction about a handicapped boy at a childrens home who listens to a radio reading of the Christmas story.
