Bill was the devoted h u s b a n d o f E l e a n o r Thompson (Feb. 9, 2007). Also pre deceased by parents Joshua and Ethel Thompson and siblings Ray, Emily Plouffe, Charles and Angus. He will be deeply missed by his brothers Frank and wife Olga, Leonard and wife Pearl, Fred and wife Linda and sisters Margaret Robson and husband Harold, Doris Cox and husband Albert and Edith Thompson along with many nieces, nephews and friends. B i l l w a s b o r n i n Nassagaweya Township June 6, 1920, the third child of Joshua and Ethel Thompson. After serving in the army during World War II, Bill returned home to the Acton area and in 1947 he and Eleanor Griffin were married. The ceremony took place at the brides home in Erin Township. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this past spring. Bills interests were never far from his rural roots. He was part owner of Thompson Motors (highway 7 in Acton) for many years and after retiring continued his interest in farming and anything mechanical. He had a keen eye for detail and built scaled replicas of horse drawn wagons, sleighs, and buggies recalled from his earlier years. These models all had working parts and complete sets of harness. He was proud of the red ribbons awarded to them at various fairs. He was a life member of the Acton Agricultural Society, and an active member of the Churchill Community Church. His contributions to his church and community were endless. Rested at the Blue Springs Funeral Home the family received friends Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service was at Churchill Community Church, Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 2 p.m. Spring interment Connings By C em e t e r y .
