I fully support these principles, and encourage MPs, in the best interest of Halton Hills and of all Canadians, to focus their efforts in a non-partisan manner towards advancing these principles, says Ja- mie Schumacker, president of Halton Hills Chamber, a statement to the media. The Chamber says the current situation is taking a severe toll on the resi- dents of Halton Hills and on all Canadians. In this regard, Halton Hills Cham- ber of Commerce and its members find it extremely disconcerting that the dis- course since the tabling of the Economic Update has been almost exclusively fo- cused on political gains and posturing. It is time to stop play- ing political games and concentrate on measures to immediately bolster investor and consumer confidence and restore eco- nomic growth. Our cribbage team, Betty Green, Norma Titus, Kay James and Phyl- lis Bunn came in first and they will be going on to the District Cribbage in Ham- ilton on March 14, 2009. Congratulations ladies. Our Christmas Party and meeting had a wonderful, festive atmosphere with 48 ladies in attendance, Susan Poulsen did a great job with her helpers. Our meal was excellent. Thank you Teresa Uiter- wyk and a big thank you to our only Branch member, Keith Andrews for help- ing serve and Keith did all the cleaning up. Your help was greatly appreciated, and never forgotten. We had a visit with Santa and his elf. I was one of the lucky ladies to sit on Santas knee. Thanks Santa (David Maloney). Our little elf was so sweet handing out candy canes. I was tempted to sneak him home with me(Jim Hayes) The room was filled with Christmas music supplied by Peggy Harris and every- one had song sheets and sang along merrily.
